Welcome

Welcome to rob.infinitepigeons.org.

Briefly, I'm a Canadian living in Dublin, Ireland. I have a B.Math from the University of Waterloo in Computer Science and Combinatorics and Optimization. I work for a small startup called "Google" (but I speak only for myself) in production operations. I like algorithms and graph theory, but these days I'm digging more into environmental and economic stuff, and some modern history.

I did co-op terms at a number of places, including Interactive Information Group at the Institute for Information Technology, part of the National Research Council of Canada where I helped publish two papers on JohnnyVon.

I spent my final year doing research at the University of Oulu, Finland on a sort of exchange.

Computers. Linux. Cooking. Vegetarianism-with-an-asterisk*. Family. Politics. Economics. Environment. Society. Philosophy. Writing. Language(s?). Coding. Web stuff. Education. Research. Movies. Cycling. Travel. That's me in a nutshell.

Probably you want to click one of the section links. Or maybe the "back" button.

* I eat vegetarian. I'm slowly getting less picky about it, and I've had enough accidental and intentional minor-meat-consumptions that it's getting harder and harder to justify a non-asterisked vegetarian label. I eat gelatin, and on occasion I'll eat anchovy paste and fish sauce in stuff. But my kitchen is pretty straight-up veggie.
