/photos/Dublin and Morocco

photo of a lost high heel shoe I posted a bunch more photos recently, from our trip to Morocco and the Sahara and a few from around Dublin, one of which is at left -- a shoe left on the street after a stormy Saturday.

New Albums from the Gallery

These are the most recent photo albums I've added to the gallery. (RSS feed)

/photos/Kerry and Fire

There are new photos from the cycling trip Clare and I did around the Ring of Kerry and some others from a giant carbon-burning (but very cool) fire "performance" at the Dublin Fringe Festival last weekend.

Clare and I are off to Greece for a week. Hurrah!

/photos/New Photos, New Software!

I ported the gallery software from perl (ick!) to PHP, and made some changes along the way. You should now be able to get a decent view of things just from the new (much larger) "thumbnails" view. Hover your mouse over an image to get the first part of its caption.

I may introduce an even smaller version for people on even slower connections, but that'll come later.

One of the bugs right now is that the gallery list doesn't show you accurate information about the order of the galleries. The newest ones are Distortia 2, Great Great Great Grandfather, Dad's Birthday Party, Craig Cardiff Show, Convocation Weekend, A Bit Of Ottawa.

These aren't all captioned, but I'll get to it soon.

Also, I've password-protected the galleries that have various family in them that might not be happy to be posted on the internet. The login name is "ewaschuk", and if you read my blog, I'm happy to give you the password. (If I grew up on Oak Street, the password would be "oak".)

Secret clues! Right in line with the movie I saw tonight. I'll give you a hint: it's the first Nicholas Cage movie I've seen in cinemas since Snake Eyes.

/photos/Remember When I Used to Post Photos?

Okay, the photos from my Europe Cycling Trip are up, partially captioned and stuff. Unfortunately, the memory card half-died on us, and most of the photos recovered are from after Steve and I had split, so I don't know much about them.

There's also photos from when I got back to Canada and stayed in Waterloo, then went to Edmonton to visit Julia and Denny and others, Saskatoon to visit some people and walk down memory lane, back to Edmonton (thanks for the ride, Davin!), and then moved to Ottawa. Enjoy.

This blog entry was lost by my ISP and they did not recover it. A fairly complete copy existed on blog aggregators, but it may have lost formatting or links.

I've just posted 263 photos in 9 different galleries the images section. No captions yet, though...they'll trickle in over the next few days, hopefully. Enjoy.

I've put up some pictures of the northern lights last night. They aren't great, but they're still better than what I thought my camera could do. I figured out that I was misinterpreting the ISO setting on the camera, since it doesn't actually make any sense for digital cameras. (Thanks Lukas!) Anyway, check 'em out.

/photos/More Miscellaneous Motographs

This blog entry was lost by my ISP and they did not recover it. Only a partial recovery was possible from external copies on blog aggregators.

Sorry, had to go for the alliteration. Couldn't help it. I swear. Only taking a few pics per event now, so they all end up in miscellaneous piles. So, without further ado, check out Finland Miscellany 2.

Mostly the only really interesting thing in there is that I ate some salmon. It wasn't very good, and I don't really plan on having it again, but I'm certainly walking along the very edge of vegetarianism. Many, perhaps even most, would say that I'm definitively over that edge. I like to think I'm vegetarian, I just happened to not be for about an hour on Saturday. :-)

/photos/Costa Rican pictures (Not from me, sadly..)

This blog entry was lost by my ISP and they did not recover it. A fairly complete copy existed on blog aggregators, but it may have lost formatting or links.

So my sister and her smoochy-smoochy boyfriend went to Costa Rica. Costa Rica appears different from Finland. Pro: Sun! Con: Giant spiders. Pro: Beautiful jungle! Con: Mud. Pro: Ziplining! Con: No universal health care (actually that's just a broad assumption. What do I know?). Pro: Warm! Con: Active volcano.

So, in conclusion, tough call. Anyway, go check out Julia and Denny in Costa Rica.

I also added the few existing pictures from my ice-swimming adventure, courtesy of Lukas. They start with this chilling shot..

That is all.

/photos/Roll of Film

This blog entry was lost by my ISP and they did not recover it. A fairly complete copy existed on blog aggregators, but it may have lost formatting or links.

Another "roll of film" has been posted. It's a couple evening's of outings, plus some miscellaneous photos about distinctively (as far as I know) Finnish things. It's called Finland Miscellany 1, in recognition of the fact that I'm not going to feel like making up titles all the time. ;-)
