Cycling to San Francisco (1/2)

On Memorial day weekend I cycled to San Francisco. It was superbly fun.

The biggest peloton of cyclists I've seen live..this was just the tail end of them.
Paul, mid-sneeze.
On the road. These trees were pretty funky, but they don't show up well.
View from a climb.
View down the same climb. This path covered abou 25% of the ride, and had lots of pedestrians and children to dodge. Fun.
Fire hydrant in the middle of nowhere on this path. Weird.
They also had all these random addition signs up. I have no idea what they were for.
Vista.
South San Francisco, I believe.
Tee hee. Drug Barn. (Paul didn't think it was a funny name, but I do.)
View over either South San Fran or Daly city.
Cars coming, cars going, houses.
Fairly typical looking houses on the outskirts of SF proper. A minivan drove by us near here, and someone in it yelled an obscenity in it. What is the world coming to when punks are driving minivans?
We actually ended up taking this advice, though I was all for ignoring it. ;-)
Inside the oldest building in SF, one of the missions set up around these parts.
More of the Dolores Missioon.
Fancy painting. Same as the original style, with significant (total?) native influence.
Baptismal font
Graveyard
Statue of a Franciscan monk
Gravestone in a cage, with wild Nasturtiums
I have this incredible knack for picking the streets that go over the apex of a hill. This was one such instance.
Tee hee. Death Monster.
Flower outside the Flower Conservatory.
More flowers at the Conservatory.
Golden Gate park. Vibrant, thriving sort of place. People of all sorts.
More GG park
One of the cooler flowers I've seen. There were a dozen or two of these hanging from the plant, presumably to catch water.
Shiny drops on a leaf.
One of the worlds biggest flowers. It was all due to bloom any day, and there were big lineups and stuff because of it. Pretty fancy.
Orchid.
Orchids.
Out the back of an authentic SF tram. A gentleman on it said we were like cavemen. I jokingly asked if he was calling us unsophisticated tourists. :-)
Jill, Amanda, Bill.
Me, Phil, Er (as in "My mom named me Erin, but I shortened it to Er"). Self-taken, my hand was covering the flash, making me look slightly creepy.
Someone else took this one, so no more creepiness.
