Dads Birthday Party (2/2)

My dad celebrated his 60th birthday with big ol' family get-together. Password protected (same as Kristin's wedding.) Email me for access.

Kidlets in blue. Griff, Dex. Happy faces.. .. CRAYZEE FACES! ..silly faces! This is a part of a beam that my dad got shipped back from Ukraine one of the first times he was there. It was apparently engraved by my great grandfather, and says something to the effect of "Here lived a godfearing Ewaschuks." [more..] This is the text. It was apparently probably a beam above a door or window, and was part of the wedding tradition to carve like this. There are characters on it that are not found in modern ukrainian, and arguments ensued about what it meant. That's my last name. My dad found the beam in the corner of a shed I think, and had to arrange for it to be taken out. The end of the beam. They had to cut it in half to ship it, but they did a good job.
