Holland Amsterdam (2/2)

The bulk of my photos from Holland..

Inside a subway car. Clean, fast, efficient, safe, easy to figure out, fairly cheap.
I couldn't help it. I had to.
Inside the synagogue. Real candles. And lots of them.
I'd try to say what this was called, but I'm sure I'd get it wrong. I shoulda taken notes.

Outside the synagogue. The main building was enclused by a strip of administrative, residential and education-related buildings around it.
This was one of our day-trips, to Muiderslot ("Madershlot")
It had a neat garden.
All children in Holland have pet falcons. Required by law.
Mirror tricks that put you in a suit of armor aren't just for kids, you know!
I'm sure that there was something interesting there.
Obnoxious materials. hah. They speek english bad. (The English was generally excellent -- it was surprising to see something fairly official [a train ticket] translated so poorly.)
This was an exhibit in the sex museum. It had my name on it, and breasts, so I surreptitiously took a photo.
Broken down street car, but the dutch were on the job mighty quick.
We got the hostel-person to take a picture of us, since we hadn't managed to get that done. They didn't do a great job, but 'saight.
The now-very-traditional beer-chinking drink.
A coaster.
The fact that Linux and PHP (geeky things) were beside the porn amused me. So I surreptiously took a photo. Lots of surreptitious photo-taking going on.
It's not very difficult to take nice pictures of clouds from an airplane. All you get to choose is the time and the zoom, pretty much.
More clouds.
Slightly digitally-enhanced shot of the rainbow that gets cast when the airplane is between the sun and the clouds.
More clouds.
Still snow on my arrival back in Oulu! (And still a few bits here and there now, 2004-05-14)
