Lviv and Warsaw (1/2)

I took a super-quick trip to Lviv one weekend while my dad was there.

Living room; I slept on that couch.
M'dad's flat
Outside the flat
Down the street by the flat
Wouldn't want to stand on that balcony..
Park right near the flat. Quite nice; reasonably maintained, but certainly not manicured
Dry creek, with a neat stone bridge over it.
Statue
Lion, I think. The name Lviv ultimately derives from the same place as Lion.
Vysokyi zamok (Високий Замок) -- Hill castle. No castle, though; just a hill.
Archeological dig around the castle. That's an old wall.
View from the top of the hill
Top of hill
Top of hill; big soviet apartment blocks

At the time, I thought this was a rip-off brandname, but now that I look, I can't figure out what name I thought it was similar to; Audigy, maybe.
Another park, with kids playing some kind of rollerblade game
In Shevchenko Garden, there were all these traditional houses that had been moved there to preserve them. This was a well mechanism near one of the houses, and m'dad said it was essentially the same as what his village relatives use.
Milling mechanism
Inside one of the houses
Another house
Spools for a loom
Spinning wheel
Church; we couldn't go in, because they were cleaning it. ("Please leave" is what my dad translated the woman's remarks as.)
No weird people with short skirts
Schoolhouse (still in Schevchenko gardens)
Same schoolhouse; this is where the teacher lived.
This is where the teacher teacheded.
Steep thatch roof. You can see the whole building is sagging a bit.
Above-door decorations, apparently common
Not sure what this is
Blacksmith's shop
Blacksmith's kiln (?)
Busted-up wagon.
Not sure
One of the main landmarks. Can't remember who it is. :-)
Opera house. We went inside and got a tour
