Remembrance Day 2004 (1/1)

Remembrance Day, November 11th, is Canada's day for celebrating and remembering those who fought and died in the wars it has participated in, particularly the world wars. In other countries, it's called things like Veteran's Day or Armistice Day.

War monument, in the central bit of ottawa.
I believe that's the East Block, but I could be wrong.
War monument squeezed between heads of crowd.
I thought this was a nice tough.
..and bilingual too..can you believe it?
The provincial flags..
Flag on roof at half-mast.
Many flags on many rooves at half mast.
Crowd for the parade. I went up on a first-story roof of the NAC (?) nearby, and got kicked off just after taking these photos.
Source of the parade. Also from roof.
By sheer luck, as I left to go catch a bus, the parade route ended up going right under the bus bridge over the canal.
Paraders. You can see british influence.
Mounties in front. Not sure who in behind.
The view back up to the parliament buildings (back-left).
