Beaches Knocknarea with ugly houses in front of it An inland bay, drained from the tide. Nice sunlight, hills Horses..with..jackets. Knocknarea (Not, unfortunately, pronounced "knockin' area", but rather "knock na'-ree")...We climbed up this A stone wall going out into the bay, for some ineffable reason.. Cows in the mud on knocknarea Cows eating yum yum A slate roof. Made with actual slate. Climbing knocknarea Partway up knocknarea A real "fix-er-upper"... poop. On top of Knocknarea is a mound/cairn, c. 2500bc. Fancy. Looking up the mound..lots of people climbed up on it, but we opted not to. Sunshine Inland bay, mostly drained at low tide More sunshine. side of knocknarea, with sheep on it. There was a man way up there, chasing them down..he seemed pretty nimble. A band that was staying in our hostel. They were pretty fun. Natty Wailer Natty Wailer, apparently some kind of Reggae guy. :-P The beach. Nice big rollers. "Best surfing in Europe," apparently. Another <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_dolmen">Portal dolmen</a> You can see the mound on top of Knocknarea from this shot. One of the many stone circles near Sligo, party of the largest stone-age cemetery in Europe, apparently.
