Wappu is the Mayday party in Finland. It's a student party where the freshman dive into a cold, muddy river. Caution: Contains assal nudity.

Some heating device on some patio. Rik is a Belgian doing his masters on predicting avalanches. The overalls are traditional Finnish party wear. Clare, Dana, and Hildur running like children for the shiney balloons. They bought a Moomin one. It's later. Oulu looks sorta hip, happening and carnival-ish. Crowds gathering to watch the first-years initiate themselves by diving into a cold, muddy river. The people that sat in front of us. Reflections. Hildur and Dana. More crowd, and some red trucks in the background. Hildur. Moomin Zoom-in Dana and the Moomin, sittin' in a tree.. Me 'n' the Moomin.. I got sorta closer to the diving... Some people getting ready for swimming. Lots of crowds now The first person diving! Bye bye Moomin! (Not ours, thankfully. Leen. She's usually smiling. She's from Belgium. She's an architect. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to post so many shots of the crowd. I went across the river to apologize to my boss after "accidentally" flipping him off (I was flipping of my coworker, and didn't realize that my boss was right there. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.) Ass! Ass! Caution: This photo contains assal nudity. Clare's architectural model (not yet complete, of course..) Eve had overalls too. Fancy.
